![]() ![]() If you're vehicle breaks and you retry.you're previous vehicle is respawned anyways (even if you choose the retry option and go back to the start) and if it's in the Wakanda section. Towards the end in Wakanda you end up crossing over a point with a Captain America shield spot.I've had my motorcycle get stuck there FOUR times.FOUR! Like why can the vehicle take damage during the race? Your vehicle takes damage (which it's a uldn't you disable damage FFS) I've had my motorcycle blow up 3 times on the curb cross over when hitting it. This includes NPCs walking around that can dead stop your vehicle. Traffic.you get to go through a one way with 3 cars minimum in Manhattan Noir and there's little room for avoidance. At least there's an option to turn it off.įor instance the race from Egypt to Wakanda on motorcycle: In which case, there are not cutscenes to introduce the level, just Gwenpool's annoying over-dramatic voice, which continues throughout the level with "oOoOh! nOw ThAt's a bIg lAsEr!", etc., etc. Gwenpool: Gwenpool can be safely ignored - that is, unless you want to play the Gwenpool Missions or the DLC Missions. The whole addition of making stronger enemies where you need to basically wait for them to get dizzy or stunned before attacking is just annoying, because the strong enemies are often thrown in at really stupid times. The addition of chucking a liberal amount of goons into every boss fight encounter just detracts from the experience and makes it impossible to tell what the heck is going on. The bosses seem to do attacks at random and it's often unclear when they can and can't be hit. Having a health bar rather than hearts means that boss fights are imprecise, and there were often moments when the boss had a good 20% health left and it transitioned straight to the defeat cutscene. ![]() Boss fights and combat in LMSH2 are terrible. 2-player is even choppier.īoss fights & combat. It's definitely playable but it may hurt your eyes after a long playthrough. It's locked at 30FPS with many framerate drops and it's noticeably rough around the edges. Graphics: unless handheld is a must for you, don't buy this on Switch. I would prefer a smaller world - like, for example, HP Years 1-4's Hogwarts - that is fun to explore and has enjoyable bite-size puzzles, rather than a huge land mass that is a bland mess. If anything, Chronopolis has made me realise that TT Games has actually been doing this sort of thing with their open worlds for a while, just not to such obnoxious levels. There's just so much random crap to do that isn't fun and is just there for the sake of having content. There's the "swim/run/drive/ride/fly through the rings" races. There's a dumb soccer minigame with remote-control scarab beetles. ![]() There's the enemy bashing tour where you walk around with another superhero beating up goons. There's the intelligence-gathering missions where you interview half a dozen people with boring stories and report back to whoever needs the information. Just chuck 'em on the map, let me fight them, and call it a day.Ĭhronopolis: Chronopolis may look cool but is overstuffed with dumb, grindy tasks. The environments in which they are set are sometimes interesting, but the rest feels uninspired.Ĭollecting character tokens: I'm not a huge fan of needing to re-visit levels or complete quests to unlock characters. Level design: the level design is really not very good. I hope we see this in the next original Lego game. Story progression: I liked the ability to choose what to do next. Flying around it is a lot of fun, and I give the developers extra points for actually putting something underwater. New additions like the Inhumans and the Guardians of the Galaxy adds some extra spice to the story, although I will say that the line-up of Avengers seems to be lacking a few big names.ĭLC Character roster: again, really good, and many of the DLC characters are far more interesting than those in the main story.Įnvironment design: Chronopolis may have its faults, but it at least looks cool with the combination of different environments and worlds. My review is for the Nintendo Switch version with all DLC.Ĭharacter roster: despite not getting the X-Men and the Fantastic Four this time around, the roster is great. Since that's now unlikely, here's my review, which summarises what I liked, what I didn't like, and what was plain out terrible. I bought Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 and completed the story a while ago, but thought I'd wait until I'd reached 100% completion before writing a review. ![]()
